Goal
Statement
To ensure compliance of the TTIA Code of Ethics by Members. To improve the presence and visibility of TTIA Members to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GOTT) and key interest groups. To maintain effective communication and information exchanges with the public (including GOTT) and Members Encourage greater participation by TTIA Members in the affairs of the Institute. To provide continuous development or Member's skills to ensure excellence in the practice of Architecture Manage and develop the TTIA finances in an effective and sustainable manner to provide appropriate Secretariat support. Establish an effective Secretariat with appropriate resources to serve the Membership.
Objective (i) Review and update the TTIA Conditions of Engagement, Code of Ethics, Rules and documents which govern the practice of Architecture. Ensure that the TTIA is involved in all aspects and areas of the built environment. Develop appropriate policy and mechanisms for effective communication with Members. Develop appropriate programmes and activities to promote Member participation and commitment. Promote and host seminars, lectures, conferences for Members. Encourage Member's participation at international conferences and travel tours. Identify, develop and implement fund raising activities and programmes on a scheduled basis. Provide suitable short term Secretariat services.
Objective (ii) Increase public awareness of the TTIA ethical standards. Ensure that the TTIA operates within a fair and equitable commercial environment. Ensure effective communications/ policy mechanisms for public, including GOTT. Development of a recognition programme for member incentives and reward TTIA Members for active participation. Establish a structured CPD programme for Members. Restructure and make effective the collection of Members dues. Provide suitable long term Secretariat services.
Objective (iii)   Ensure that the appropriate legislation is drafted and enacted to grant licensing of Architects. Develop appropriate communications with Caribbean and International Architects. Encourage Members to contribute in community projects to demonstrate the Architect's contribution to society. Lead efforts towards the development of post graduate programmes in Architecture at UWI. Ensure availability of funds for the Institute's Secretariat facilities.
Objective (iii)       Research develop and implement appropriate and relevant range of Members services and monitor programmes to measure effectiveness. Establish a programme for registered CPD providers in construction and building products. Invest in a Building Fund and a Member's Benevolent Fund.
