The New TTIA Website - The President's Statement
The TTIA Web site allows the members of the Institute and its Executive leadership a window to the world. This website is intended to serve the need for promoting communication between the members of the Trinidad and Tobago Institute of Architects and the public, both nationally and internationally.
The TTIA Website can only survive with the support of the members. In addition to supporting us with your articles and contributions, member firms that do not have websites can consider promoting their work in a professional format by acquiring a page listing within the TTIA website at a very minimal fee, as part of our services to our members. In this way visitors to the site will always have an opportunity to view the work of all members with or without their own websites and via our page listings, thus benefiting all participating members and firms. All TTIA full members, together with their online presence, are listed for free, once their membership dues are up to date.
Some of the benefits to be enjoyed from participating in the TTIA Web site are :
- An individual membership listing that is viewed by local and international visitors
- A firm listing that is viewed both nationally and internationally
- News of architectural significance from local, regional and international sources
- Updated Rules, Code of Conduct, Conditions of Engagement, Practice Notes.
- Members Services with restricted access for TTIA members
- A guide for prospective clients on How to Select an Architect
- A guide for prospective clients on Why Hire an Architect
- Committee Reports - an update of the activities of the Institute
- International Union of Architects reports and releases which will be uploaded for the memberships' benefits
- The Caribbean Building Awards News and Updates
- Reports on the progress of the much needed revision of the Architecture Profession Act of Trinidad and Tobago.
The TTIA Web site is a new initiative and is still under development which we hope to complete prior to the next Annual General Meeting. We would like to know what special features you would like to see, so if you have any constructive suggestions please do not hesitate to contact us. One way you can do this is to leave a brief message on our virtual phone (868) 624.8842 (624-TTIA) and we will get back to you to discuss your suggestion.
